First Come First Served:

Forest Bathing

Forest Bathing (shinrin-yoku) was developed by the Japanese government to combat a stress pandemic in the 80s. Green prescriptions were given to patients suffering from stress, anxiety and depression. Forest Bathing is making contact with and taking in the atmosphere of the forest. It’s a guided walk to facilitate slowing down and taking in the beauty and benefits of the woodland using mindfulness techniques with many stops along the way to explore the senses through touch, smell, sight, sound and taste. Hundreds of studies have been done on forest bathing and the effects of forest and woodland areas on the body and immune response. Time spent fully immersed in nature lowers cortisol levels, reduces blood pressure, lowers the heart rate and balances out the nervous system. It also helps to improve sleep and exposure to the particles released in woodlands improves the immune system. You will leave a forest bathing session feeling more grounded, more connected with your surroundings and your bodies response to its surroundings, it reconnects you to your inner self and nature.
