SUP Yoga on the Lake

Take your Yoga practice onto the water and swap your mat for a board! Suitable for all experiences and bodies, SUP Yoga is fun, and challenges your balance and coordination whilst also really strengthening your core. You are surrounded by nature and the motion of water gently soothes the soul.

Inspired by the element of water, we will begin with some gentle seated poses and connecting with the Sacral Chakra . Caroline will gently guide you through a class helping you to feel balanced, calm and connected. There will be an option to challenge yourself if you wish to try some standing poses, using the paddle to help create stability.

SUP Yoga is easier than you think- we just slow it down and really connect with every part of our body, taking time to find our balance and ease gently into each pose. Keeping our centre of gravity low to the board, we will find stillness as you connect deeply to yourself and the beautiful surroundings.

Uisce Area – classes all day – NB: *SUP Yoga is only available to those who have purchased an additional ticket for this specifically.*

You can pay for a SUP yoga session by purchasing a ticket on our ‘Tickets’ page. You must book your time slot separately through a private link on the provider’s website. This will be sent out by email to all SUP yoga ticket holders closer to the event. Please note that SUP yoga tickets may only be used by those with a valid Adult Day Pass and by those over 16yrs.

TICKETS can be purchased here.

Forest Bathing

Forest Bathing (shinrin-yoku) was developed by the Japanese government to combat a stress pandemic in the 80s. Green prescriptions were given to patients suffering from stress, anxiety and depression. Forest Bathing is making contact with and taking in the atmosphere of the forest. It’s a guided walk to facilitate slowing down and taking in the beauty and benefits of the woodland using mindfulness techniques with many stops along the way to explore the senses through touch, smell, sight, sound and taste. Hundreds of studies have been done on forest bathing and the effects of forest and woodland areas on the body and immune response. Time spent fully immersed in nature lowers cortisol levels, reduces blood pressure, lowers the heart rate and balances out the nervous system. It also helps to improve sleep and exposure to the particles released in woodlands improves the immune system. You will leave a forest bathing session feeling more grounded, more connected with your surroundings and your bodies response to its surroundings, it reconnects you to your inner self and nature.
